About Mary

Mary studied at Columbia College of Chicago where she got her degree in theatre design. During her time there, she also earned a minor in fine arts, where she discovered and developed a deep passion for oil painting. The intricate brush strokes and vivid colors captivated her, leading to a profound appreciation for the art form.

Since graduating, her focus in theatre has slowly shifted towards fine arts. She now creates and sells both watercolor and oil paintings part-time.

As an artist, she finds inspiration in the works of impressionists, rococo artists, and the small-town America from the past. Her paintings explore the impact of movement on perspective and the transformative nature of lighting on mood. Her artwork features dreamlike scenes with surreal elements, depicting a mix of memories, vibrant colors, and emotions. Painting from a blend of captured images and memories, her landscape pieces burst with a variety of colors and light, offering whimsical interpretations of the world around us.
